Legion Gameplay

So Ion starts off explaining to us where we being questing in the Broken Isles. Just FYI I <3 Ion. So unlike all the other expansions you can start anywhere you want!!

The mobs scale to your level. Since Blizzard has mastered scaling in instances now they have decided to bring it to the leveling system. Great move!!! You don't have to wait till your friends are the same level as you to run quests with them. You also don't have to wait to hit a certain level to see a certain area you're excited to see. You choose your path.

The purpose in the main quest line is to obtain the Titan Relic known as the Pillar of Creation, to seal the Tomb of Sargeras. So no matter where you start, you will still need to see all of the areas to complete this mission. Suramar is the final zone at max level 110. I'm sure you are all wondering, how can I go anywhere? How can this happen?!

I'm excited to see what they will do with Endgame. Hopefully no more endless dailies....(Rip)

Ion stated that he wanted us to still be able to choose where we want to go when it came to completing our daily objective quests (rep, pvp, world bosses, professions, etc). Blizzard still want us to have some structure so you have an idea of where to begin (for questing noobs like me). With scaling mobs no need to stay in one little area to complete a quest and they have added world objectives. Every day your map will have locations of tasks to complete.

Some of these objectives will be around for a couple of hours and some that are more rare will last a week, removing the "Daily" from dailies. With so many options you decided what rewards you really want and what tasks to tackle. No need to server hop to find the objective you want, they are having the same objectives cross region (US,EU,etc). Makes it easier to do objectives with friends if that's what you like.

Class order halls will have Emissary's asking for help (quests). That 1 NPC will have multiple objectives to complete the quest. Giving you options on which quests to do.
These quests are not dailies, hence why the ! is not blue. If you can't log in to complete no need to worry they will last a few days.

Next Raids & Dungeons my favorite!

2 raids for launch so far, The Emerald Nightmare & The Grand Palace of Suramar. They have decided to release the raids as they did in WoD. Meaning the first raid tier will be released probably 1-2 weeks after Legion is released.

The Emerald Nightmare

Finally we get to see what is lurking inside The emerald dream/nightmare. This raid is located in Val'shara. The emerald dream was a parallel paradise world that mirrored Azeroth, until it was corrupted by Xavius and became the Emerald Nightmare. We have to climb the world tree and cross over to the nightmare and try to destroy Xavius.

Pestilence Worm - First boss in the Emerald Nightmare. Once a green dragon guarding and defending the dream has now fallen into the nightmare.

Cenarius - Corrupted by the Nightmare

Xavius - In Azeroth he looks like a Satyr but in the Nightmare he looks different.

Suramar Palace

Gul'dan and the Legion has teamed up with the Nightborne and has claimed Suramar as his base. The final Pillar of Creation, the eye of Aman'thul that is being used to power the Nightwell. We need to retrieve this in order to stop the Legion.

Dreadlord Ambassador

Grand Magistrix Elisunde

Gul'dan will be the final boss in this raid.

I am super excited about this raid. The concept art is just breath taking.

Ion stated that Dungeons are the heart of the Legion expansion. 10 dungeons are coming in Legion!! 5 level up dungeons and 5 max level dungeons. Just like with leveling the dungeons scale to your level. So no more having to wait to hit a certain level to try them out! Super pumped about this since I love to just farm dungeons.

Halls of Valor is by far my favorite looking dungeon. All the amazing art & architecture that went into making it is just magnificent. Bravo to the art team!!! They really brought what I think Valhalla should look like to life.

Darkheart Thicket is the world tree dungeon. In order to get into The Emerald Nightmare we have to go through the world tree.

Suramar Catacombs is like a mini attunement into the Palace. You have to work your way up into the Palace trying to find an entrance.

Helheim! When you don't get into Valhalla you go to Helheim. Where your soul will be cursed for the rest of Eternity!!

This dungeon looks like a cross between Black Temple / Karazhan. I love that spiral staircase. I would love that to be a gauntlet where you have to fight mobs up the stair case while things are falling from above.

Legion Challenge mode looks pretty interesting. You start a Challenge mode with a Keystone and they are still deciding how you will acquire the keystone so stay tuned!!!

This keystone is for a specific legion dungeon, comes with a power level for the dungeon determining the difficulty as well as the rewards for completing the dungeon.

The higher you level the keystone, the more challenges you will face in the dungeon to make it harder and more exciting.

There is still a timer but it's a little easier than silver right now. If you complete the dungeon you upgrade your Keystone allowing for a harder difficulty and better rewards. If you fail you deplete your Keystone but still receive loot.

They are going to offer really amazing epics, so if you do not want to raid to get good gear this is the way to go.

Next blog will be about Legion Game System. Including Artifacts, Class changes, and TRANSMOG!!!!!!!!!!!!!
